Rome, 07 May 2020.- Powertis, a company of the Spanish group Soltec Power Holdings focused on the development and investment of large-scale solar PV projects with presence in Europe and Latin America, continues with its expansion plans and announces its entry into the Italian solar photovoltaic market.
With the arrival in Italy, Powertis starts the development of a portfolio of strategically located PV projects in the regions of Basilicata, Puglia, Sicily, Sardinia and Lazio. The current Powertis’ portfolio adds up 500 MW and Powertis aims to reach 1 GW of ready-to-invest assets by 2023. In this way, the company continues with its solid international expansion, and increases its pipeline that exceed +2 GW between Italy and Brazil.
The positive expectations of the Italian electricity market are supported by the ambitious National Integrated Climate and Energy Plan (PNIEC), which sets a target of +30 GW of PV capacity by 2030.
Roberto Capuozzo, Country Manager of Powertis in Italy, points out that: “Italy is a great strategic opportunity for the company in terms of growth and international development, being this one of the markets with the greatest potential in Europe for the photovoltaic sector.
